Alpha International Ministries brings hope and faith to people during the time of crisis

Ministry in Ukraine during the war is challenging and crucial. The conflict has caused immense suffering and displacement, leaving many people without basic necessities and hope for a better future. During this crisis we decided to provide much-needed support, love, and encouragement to those affected by the war.

Alpha International Ministry offers practical assistance, such as distributing food, water, and clothing to the displaced and war-affected individuals. Repairing and rebuilding houses destroyed by the war.

However, our work in Ukraine goes beyond meeting physical needs. Alpha International Ministry offers emotional and spiritual support as well. Counseling and trauma healing programs have been implemented to help individuals and families cope with the tremendous emotional toll brought about by the war.

Furthermore, we have facilitated opportunities for spiritual growth and hope. We hope to bring comfort, peace, and restoration to the lives of those affected by the war, ultimately leading to a brighter and more hopeful future for Ukraine.

New Outreach and New Beginnings

We are filled with gratitude as we reflect on the last season of ministry here in Ukraine. Because of your unwavering support and generosity, it has been possible for us to continue serving the families of Poltava, especially during these challenging times. God has been at work in remarkable ways, and we’re excited to share with you some of the recent highlights.

We hosted a women’s conference titled "Brave Heart,” with a special focus on staying strong in the face of so many difficult circumstances. We were blessed to have 120 women, over a third of whom were new to church at all.

The event featured workshops on practical skills and fostered a deep sense of mutual support among the participants. It was a powerful reminder of the strength found in community, especially as these women face significant challenges in their daily lives.

We also reached a significant milestone in our church’s journey: the completion of the second floor of our church building.

This has been a huge step of faith for our congregation, and it is a blessing to have this space where everyone can gather together to hear God’s Word on Sunday mornings. We are eager to see how God will continue to use this space for His glory.

Our church had the privilege of hosting a pastors' and leaders' retreat, where pastors and their teams from Eastern Ukraine come to receive training and support to continue preaching the Gospel.

It was wonderful to see many of our leaders stepping up to host and organize this event.

Finally, we held an evangelistic camp for children aged 6-12, many of whom come from difficult backgrounds. The theme of the camp was "Stellar: Shining the Light of Jesus," We were thrilled to have nearly a hundred kids in attendance, all of whom do not come from churched backgrounds.

Through games, Bible stories, and teachings, these young hearts were introduced to the love of Christ. It was a week full of joy, laughter, and the seeds of faith being planted in tender hearts.

Who is Alpha
International Ministries?

Alpha International Ministries was founded in 2010 by Sergey and Natalia Murza. Our mission is to bring the love, light, and compassion of Jesus Christ to the Ukrainian people. We are based in the city of Poltava in eastern Ukraine. The foundation of our work is the Bread of Life church. As we encountered tremendous needs around us, other programs were added – hunger and homelessness relief programs, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, a school, refugee relief operations, summer camps, and the Night in Bethlehem production. This great work would not be possible without the amazing people of Poltava and our generous partners all over the world.

Bread of Life Church

The Bread of Life church was founded in 2010 and now welcomes over 400 people each week. The church is the base for all our other programs. Being a place of hope and healing, we view it as God’s instrument to bring life, light, and change to the world. More information about the church can be found here.

Alpha & Omega Christian School was founded in 2016. Our primary goal is to foster the development of strong leaders who are grounded in their faith and equipped with the tools necessary to make a positive impact.
